Any mods you look forward to? You know how it works.So I finished OGSE a little while back and quite enjoyed it(despite its many flaws), kinda wish the writing would've been more consistent seeing as many quests start off interesting but kinda fall flat in the end (I'm looking at you, weird radioactive talking stuffed animal). Also, the ending was somewhat meh.There is quite a bit of fetch quest nonsense crammed in the mod, but because of cars it's bearable. That being said the mod frequently delivers interesting moments like in dead city or when you take the rescue quest in radar and that weird russian marionette appears.Now since I've been away from stalker for 3 months, I kinda feel the itch again. Not sure if I want to mod CoC again, I'm kinda interested in radiophobia though.
Anyone played that one yet? Some good original story mods you guys would recommend? Quite enjoyed wind of time. He has been trying to force this meme or a variation of it for a little while now, just ignore him and he'll run out of autism eventually.What did you think of the writing?
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and a bit of a dive into russian sci-fi, but as I said above I wish the chubacapra(or however you spell it) quest and some other quests( the old men searching for his daughter comes to mind, although the reward from the zone is neat) had more to them. That being said I really enjoyed dead city and the idea that you have to reach the shelter or fight for you life all night.Wind of time is a bit shorter and a more linear/story heavy experience than ogse, so I'd go with that first.
Wait till you reach the lab under the wild territory. Play at least till you get to the bar(or you get a proper scope for your rifle the first one is in the agroprom military camp), the game opens up more after that. The beginning is kinda offputting at times. SoC is mostly considered the best game in the series(Clear Sky is the worst, tough some of the later levels are neat).I honestly think it might be the beginning part without a scope, that makes many people skeptical.

Mostly generic fetch quest work better in STALKER compared to shit like shitrim and fagout 4 because the places you visit are actually interesting and the AI is just smart enough and you are just dirt poor enough to make it an actual struggle. If you want to wank about interesting stories in quest by design play CoP. Most of the time the shit that happens on the way towards fetch quest in SoC is the fun part. Like how when you are asked to retrieve a box from the military you end up re-enacting some looney toons sketch. A good chunk from Stalker's charm comes from surviving the day, exploring things and taking opportunity of the situations you come across, instead of just making a beeline to the end. Yeah, most sidequests are fetch shit, however there are some that aren't, like the one where you have to find spoiler hideout, Saving spoiler from a Bandit prison, assassinations, etc.
There are also all the 'find the upgraded suit/gun' quests which you can accept, only to steal said items for yourself and cancel the quest.As a big fan of the games, I will admit that after finishing the story, there's not much else to do, if at all. It just becomes the day-in-day-out hunt for supplies and going back and forth to traders, so it's fine if you want to drop it by then. Though you can always challenge yourself by hunting Chimeras/Pseudogiants/Bloodsuckers at night, or purging an entire settlement's worth of Stalkers. Misery modifies the price of most things, a can of tuna for example is 3000 rubles.not eating masculine meals with vodka for rad reduction while watching a blowout from the watchtower in YanovNever played it, because anons keep saying the grind is annoying.It's difficult for stupid people with dead horse reflexes. Not once in my games did I have to grind since I always go for the other ship in the starting area and chuck a grenade into the gathered stalkers while setting up some mines on the exits.Once I even off'd everyone with an axe since the AI likes to come crouched around corners with their heads always in the same places. Just kill everyone you meet and you're alright.

I can snipe all the same with all classes and survive a firefight with the sniper. The only thing a recon is better for is his increased drug effect.
My complaint isn't really the number of interesting quests, but rather that they start off strong and then end kinda weak(like the chupacarbra quest where you never learn anything about how it came to be and if there's anything connected with the zone). Contrast that quest with the master quest in dead city which tied up quite nicely or the ending to the quest with the stalker who was nothing but a brain in a tube and at the end you realise you were helping him commit suicide. I wish they had tied most quest up as nicely as those two is all. But that is probably nitpicking on my part, it was fine for what it was.
No, the info broker randomly asked if I could help do a trade between 2 parties. It was in the 'Ranger' warehouse, east of the Stalker ship encampment.I was getting some stash fetch quests yep, which reminded me of the first game. I just get burned out a little when there's 10 Stalkers and most of their dialogue was just finding out about the Helicopters (which you can just run up to, its located on the PDA), if they have quests (which most didn't). I'm a little overwhelmed and not in the mood to read not important lore dialogue.
